The Art of Sue Anne McConnell

Hello! My name is Sue Anne McConnell. I have been in love with art and art supplies ever since I could say "Let's color!"  When I was growing up, I always had a box of colored pencils by my side while I watched television. At that time, those shows would have been Bonanza and Ben Casey!  While in college, I took several art courses, but consider myself mostly self taught, especially in the clay medium.  I put all of my art on the back burner while working in respiratory therapy for 15 years and raising three sons.  When my youngest was in high school, I decided to sculpt a Santa Claus and that lead to my passion for polymer clay!  I had the good fortune of owning my own shop/studio in the historic town of Tipp City, Ohio.  The store, Trace Creek, was warm and cozy. I developed a wonderful following of people who collected my work.  Then, in 2000, my husband announced that we were being transferred to California. I was devastated to leave my store because I felt that I was living the American Dream. After the move to southern California, I had to find another outlet for my work. I discovered Ebay, where I have been selling for about two years. I sculpt a variety of whimsical creatures, including primates, fairies, thimble dwellers, bears, baby dolls, and vintage style wire jointed dolls. My work has seen its way to England, Australia, New Zealand, France, Canada, and Thailand since joining Ebay and I have many repeat customers. I never use molds for any aspect of my work.  Each piece is one of a kind.
