The Art of Rose Lacefield
Thank you for visiting our corner of the RainForest! Our family of artists lives in Washington state between the coastline and the lush Northwest forests. I have nine children, seven still at home and we live on a 100 year old dairy farm (now we raise goats instead of milk cows) at the crux of three rivers. A large assortment of animals also live with us here at our farm. Most of them were needing a home in the country ~ smile ~ and ended up at our front door. My children also, have been wondrously gathered from diverse places to become a part of the beautiful tapestry we have entitled "b.b.flockling". This is the lovely place where our faeries and other whimsical creatures take flight from our imagination...to yours!
I have worked professionally as a Human Resource manager at a local papermaking mill for eleven years. As well as a part-time commercial artist designing book covers, posters, murals and all sorts of graphic arts for our local community. Twelve years ago, the mill was shut down, and I decided to enter art as a full-time profession, starting a furniture resoration and decorative painting business with my husband. All the emotional and spiritual training these jobs and my family have provided are now an integral part of my sculpts.
Each and every creation seems to derive from personal experiences over the years, and I enjoy sharing that intimate story with my visitors. But that is only the beginning of their story! Whenever one of my little ones fly off to a new home, their new family will create the next chapters with their own heart's imagination. What a lovely form of art this is!
